When should I report a claim?

Here are some things to consider when deciding if you should report a claim or not:

- Was anyone injured?
- Did you damage someone else's property or vehicle?
- Is it unsafe to live in your home or drive your car?
- Are the damages above your deductible?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, you should consider filing a claim.


How do I file a claim with wefox Insurance?

Already have a wefox Account?

  • you log into the website (link on the upper right side) and follow the steps requested.
  • you download/open your wefox App on your smartphone and follow the steps requested (you can download the wefoy App in the links enabled on the right of this section).

How do I file claims concerning other insurers, means not wefox Insurance AG?

If you have concluded further contracts with other insurers (e.g. ARAG, Axa, Allianz, etc.) via wefox, please contact your broker or the insurance company directly. This will speed up the processing.


If you’re not sure which company is your insurance provider, please email us to [email protected]. We’ll process your request directly then. However, please note this will take a little more time. We therefore ask you kindly to be patient with us.


What do I do if a wefox customer has damaged my car or my property?

If a wefox customer caused a damage to your car or property, please send an email to us with details to [email protected].

Please add the following information:

  • Your information: name, address and phone number.
  • Details of the wefox customer: name, address, contract number and car license plate.
  • Claim details: date and location of the event, description and images of the damage.

Our claims team will review your claim and will get back to you shortly.



How do car insurance deductibles work?

A deductible is an amount of money that you are responsible for paying toward an insured loss.

You're responsible for your policy's stated deductible every time you file a claim. After you pay the car deductible amount, your insurer will cover the remaining cost to repair or replace your vehicle.

Example:
If you have a €500 deductible and €2,000 in damage from a covered accident, your insurer will pay €1,500 to repair your car, and you'll be responsible for the remaining €500.


What if my car insurance deductible costs more than my repairs?

If your auto insurance deductible is higher than the cost of the damage to your vehicle, you'll pay for the entire cost out of pocket as the insurer only covers damages above your deductible amount. In these cases, you may not need to file a claim.


Example:

Your car repairs only amount to €500 and your deductible is €1,000. You'll pay for all the repairs out of pocket because the cost is lower than your deductible amount.

How can I change my contact, account or address data in the wefox App?

Your wefox App makes it easy to update your personal data, make changes to your wefox Insurance policies, including cancellations, or change payment methods with a few clicks.


How can I buy wefox Insurance products?

Ask your broker if they offer wefox Insurance or schedule an appointment with a wefox exclusive advisor by clicking ‘Get advice’ in the header right on top of our website. You can also find us on most of the best comparison sites.


I can't access the former wefox App & my third-party contracts. Who do I contact?

Do you still have third-party contracts with other insurers that you have concluded via wefox and/or you can no longer log into the former wefox App? Don't worry: Just send us an email at [email protected].

How can I cancel my wefox Insurance policies?

  1. Log in to the wefox App/website
  2. Go to policy details
  3. Just click on the "Cancel" button
  4. Now you see the next possible cancellation date
  5. Please confirm the cancellation
  6. Done! Your policy cancellation to the next possible date was successful

Do I pay a deductible if I damaged a car?

If you cause an accident but don't damage your car, you won't pay a deductible. In this scenario, your liability coverage would pay for the other driver's injuries and property damage, which doesn't carry a deductible. However, if your vehicle is damaged in the accident and you decide to file a collision claim, then you would pay your collision deductible.


Does car insurance cover windshield damage?

Glass damage to the car is usually caused by falling rocks. If you have partially comprehensive coverage, then you should be covered for auto glass repair, including a full windshield replacement. The defective part (windshield, headlight, mirror) will be repaired or replaced.


If a glass breakage is caused by yourself or as a result of vandalism / hit-and-run, only fully comprehensive insurance applies.


Important note
: You shouldn't wait too long after the damage occurs to report a glass claim, and the claim should be filed before any repairs take place. The longer you wait to get your windshield or window fixed, the more likely the chip or crack will spread.


What should I do if I have a broken windshield?

  • If your windshield breaks, you should file a claim as soon as possible and before any repairs are made. If the damage occurs while you're driving, pull over as soon as you can, and report your claim immediately.
  • If your windshield gets chipped or cracked, you should file a comprehensive claim as soon as you can, and before you proceed with repairs.

Over time, assets (cars, equipment, buildings) lose value due to age, wear and tear, or obsolescence. The amount that the asset decreases in value from the original value to its current value is referred to as depreciation.
